Mirror Father Mirror

Posted by – June 10, 2010

I’ve got this elaborate decorating scheme in the back of my mind that involves a lot of mirrors. Basically, I want to get about ten or twelve celluloid hand mirrors and hang them on pegs in a cluster in my kitchen or bathroom. This mint green fantasy is my newest inspiration.

The title of this post just made me burst out laughing.

“That piece is entitled “Mirror, Father, Mirror.” I like to show it to people that I’m meeting for the first time because I feel it says so much about who I am and what it feels like to inhabit my specific skin.”

Oh my gosh, YES! I hadn’t seen this, but that’s basically my idea exactly. I’m also in love with the cluster of hanging dolls on the wall. Such a better use of space than putting them on a shelf! Thanks for the link, Liane.

LOVE! Though, my childhood fear of Bloody Mary may forever prevent me from plastering my walls in mirrors. D’oh!

That photo is amazing – I want to steal it all, especially those chairs! I put handmirrors in a dark little hall in our tiny apartment. So far, there are about 11, but I’m still keeping an eye out at every car boot sale and thrift store I go to..

I love mint green too. And mint chocolate and mint choco ice cream. I’m sure this is all related. This room is so mesmerizing. I want to hang out in there. I also love mint chocolate and mint ice cream… s
