gorgeous. My local farmer’s market left off last year with purple shallots, the most uncommon hot peppers, mango goats milk soap… and started again with three shades of asparagus… loaded up on potted herbs. Can’t wait for midsummer. It’s utterly overwhelming.

If you ever get a chance, go to the farmer’s market in Madison, WI. It’s one of the best imaginable farmer’s market experiences. Tables of honey displays in every shade of amber, eggs in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Lush cut flower arrangements, fine smoked cheeses, *amish cashew brittle*, rare herbs, purple potatoes and carrots…. this doesn’t even cover 1/20th of it.

LeToille, a restaurant right off the square (won the James Beard award) uses exclusively produce from the adjacent market to craft exquisite, once in a lifetime dishes.

I’m with you on this one, there is nothing that thrills me more than a market trip filled with fresh, local fruits & veggies. This week I loaded up on some sweet cherries, grapes, a watermelon, tomatoes, and peaches. MMmmmm mmmm!

I am with you the farmers market is a wonderful summer place to be. I’m so lucky there is one so close to my house. Beautiful pictures.
I will have to bring my camera with me next time I go to the market
