DUDE LOVE vintage bathing suits. . . especially the ones for guys. . . i’ve been wanting to get my hands on one of those vintage guys suits that go to your knees and have suspender like straps. I would wear it with some bikini top. LOVE these photos

I think I actually prefer this look to the current bathing suit. Not that I want to swim in wool, but it’s terribly uncomfortable & vulgar to prance about in one’s underwear. I don’t wanna do it & I don’t wanna see it. And I’m with Robin, can’t endure the sun. Did anyone out there watch Gidget? Remember her friend Larue who was allergic to the sun? Yeah, that’s me.

amazing! I love collecting vintage photos from estate sales!

I grew up & live in CA and I still fear the beach..I love all the critters, shells and the sand…..but the sun tears me up! I am too pale to handle it. I have a love hate relationship with the beach probably why the jewelry I make is ocean inspired. When I have the urge to risk melanoma I pick damn beautiful beach in some tropical land to make it worth while.

Growing up in New Zealand you pretty much can’t escape the beach, and I really do love it! But I also sadly burn in about two seconds flat so its lots of shade and sunscreen for me. I especially love those last two photos, it’s always a bit of a treat when you see a break in the usual serious and posed shots, she looks like she’s having fun!

Haha, I’m exactly the same when it comes to the beach. I RARELY go and when a swimming event comes along I feel like the weirdo in a one piece compared to all those girls wearing a bikini. Not to mention I don’t actually go to tan or swim (unless there’s nobody around, then I’ll swim)!

Bring back the one piece!!!

i think we should bring back the modesty of these totally impractical and sweltering bathing costumes. why? because i am totally grossed out by people’s untamed flesh flouncy out everywhere. i’m not a prude, i just do not want to see your crevices.
