Nomadic Layering

Posted by – August 27, 2010

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: summer can just take a hike — I’m all about the fall, man. I hope to be layering it up very, very soon. If the cool weather this week is any indication, I’ll be taking some cues from early ’90s Elaine Benes (leather backpack, blazer, long dresses) and melding it with layers of fur and scarves. Cannot.wait.

This nomad themed editorial was conceived as traveling the world and “wearing your souvenirs on your sleeve.” I dig! Plenty of inspiration here, especially the textiles, capes and furry petticoats. Also, the New York baseball hat…way to be cheeky, New York Times Magazine.

Oh my gosh, I love this. Do you know who the stylist was? Fabulous. Each look has so many hidden treasures in it, it’s like a Highlights magazine but better.

p.s. I have a fantastic leather backpack in my shop right now. Esprit. Color block, even! :D
