		<description>I saw this exhibit when it was traveling about three years ago.  It was so powerful - which I realize is a strange thing to say in some ways.  There was something about these quilts in particular - I can&#039;t explain it exactly.  The best comparison I could make was to a Rothko painting.  At first it seems flat and unassuming.  But - if you stand before it long enough, it opens up, sort-of starts to breathe and pulsate.  Anyway, it was something I wouldn&#039;t have expected from textiles.  You should definitely see them in person if you get the chance.</description>
