With perhaps Lost Boys and Vampire's Kiss (Nic Cage in the phone booth with plastic fangs trying to talk to his psychologist sold me) in close second and third. I prefer that archetypal 80's cheesiness combined with blood suckers. And the opening sequence with the Bauhaus performance is really iconic in my humble opinion. This one is my favorite! It didn't hurt that two of my favourites, Susan Sarandon and David Bowie are playing in it, or that is so typically eighties. I agree that it is partly cheesy, though. Not sure about which vampire movie is my favourite, but 'Dracula' with Gary Oldman and also 'Nosferatu' are up there. All time scary favourites are maybe a couple of the 'Alien' movies on one side and ghost movie 'The Others' on the other. I really liked this movie, I think I saw it a couple of years ago.
