Ok! So I think you should read HERmione by H.D. as well as Nightwood by Djuna Barnes. Both are female modernists and would be a good read in the beautiful fall weather (especially HERmione!).

Hmmm, a book recomendation eh? My favorite book ever is The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher. I read it over and over for all the glorious details….Scotland, Cornwall, and London…yummy!

I just finished The Juniper Tree by Barbara Comyns, and it was definitely one of my favorite reads in recent memory. If you like faery tales–and especially revisionist tellings of classic faery tales–this is the book for you. (And even if you don’t, it’s still a great read!)

Most of Comyns’s books are now sadly out of print, but you can find them at used bookstores (my favorite place to treasure hunt) or online. One of her older books, Who Was Changed and Who Was Dead, was recently rereleased by a publishing project called Dorothy. And the cover features cute art by Yelena Bryksenkova! I loved that Mitford biography! I highly recommend The Pursuit of Love/Love in a Cold Climate by Nancy Mitford (if you haven’t already read them) or Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh.

For book, I just read The Marvelous Bones of Time by Brenda Coultas (ghosts!) and it was great for fall. Also, Housekeeping by Marilynne Robinson, if you haven’t already read it.

I recently read The Spell of the Tiger by Sy Montgomery and I’ve been recommending it to everyone. It’s not a book I would normally be inspired to read, but it is very well written and an entirely fascinating discussion of nature and myth. I have begun reading through her other books, as well. I loved the book “Jitterbug Perfume” by Tom Robbins. It really stretches your imagination. Also, on the other side of the book spectrum, ” The Apprentice:My Life in the Kitchen” by Jacques Pepin. I just finished that.

I’m newly addicted to Teeangster. Your taste in photography and the random keep me intrigued on the daily. Oh, and if 500+ of my kitty pictures does not profess my love of kittens, I don’t know what does.
Anyway, the backpack is adorable! And I reccomend Even Cow Girls Get the Blues by Tom Robbins or anything by Kurt Vonnegut.

I would read The Corrections if you haven’t already. His new book got mixed reviews but, my oh my, The Corrections is something. I think about the different characters all the time. It’s funny, but now that I’m away from English major types and post feminist theories, I have a new appreciation for The Corrections.

For fun, I’m reading Bite Me (Christopher Moore)–not his funniest but still a hoot. And, there are vamprye kitties (2 great things that go great together).

My wife has me hooked on your blog……this bag would look great with her red hair – the book is “the little friend” by Donna Tartt, if you have already read it, might i suggest “the little prince” by Antoine de Saint, which of course you must have already read but you can always read it again…….love the lanscape paintings by the way!
