If you ever get the chance you should visit the Thorne Rooms at the Art Institute in Chicago. Simply incredible miniature rooms, depicting everything from ancient decor to modern, all done with amazing skill and detail. In a photograph you can’t tell if it’s a miniature room or a lifesize one.

oh and there were no notes f the inhabitants, I wasnt that off my rocker, but there were a collection of letters I wrote to cat fancy and never sent in….

I love crazy ladies (maybe because i am one…) this is the most fantastic thing i have read all day! Thank you! Oddly enough I was over at my parents house recently and I have a large doll house there my grandfather built me and he even built all the tiny furniture, best thing is my parents are borderline hoarders and save everything, so I opened up my dollhouse the other week after not opening it since like 3rd grade…oh it’s sooooo creepy delicious to peep inside, like the slaton sea! Looks a lot like this one, only mine is littered with tiny mc donalds happy meals, shakes & hamburgers, oh the 80s!

There’s a really neat dollhouse store just down the street from my shop. This place would make you fall right down it’s so amazing. They have thousands of tiny little things- tubes of toothpaste, Christmas decorations (for the dollhouse!), pets, textiles, food… It’s incredible!!!
