I read in a book somewhere that many of the older geishas have a little bald spot on the crown of their heads where their hair was routinely pulled to make the geisha hair do. Now everyone wears wigs, but the bald spots were seen as a mark of honor! (probably for all the pain, of having your hair pulled all the time) fascinating video.
